Pet urine treatments
Do it yourself:
If the urine is still wet:
1. Blot up as much as possible.
2. Mix 1 drop of dish washing detergent with 2 pints of warm water.
3. Pour enough on the spot to completely saturate the spot.
4. Blot dry and repeat.
If the spot your find is already dry:
1. Mix 1 cup of vinegar with 1 gallon of water.
2. Pour liberally onto to spot. Just enough to cover the spot completely.
3. Blot up excess solution
4. Repeat Step 2 & 3 one more time.
There are four different levels of professional pet urine treatment.
1. Topical - treatment is applied to the carpet then cleaned thoroughly.
2. Subsurface - first the area is flooded thoroughly with water then extracted with a tool called a subsurface extractor. This step is repeated until there is no yellow coming up. Then the area is flooded with pet urine treatment. All urine remaining in the carpet, pad and subfloor is digested by the product. Then finally subsurface extracted thoroughly again. After this step we pretreat and clean the carpet with our restoration cleaning process. This treatment treats the carpet, pad and subfloor.
3. Remove & replace - this process involves detaching the carpet and disposing of the pad. Once the pad has been removed we follow the steps of the subsurface cleaning. Once the carpet has been cleaned treated on both sides then the next day we return and seal the sub floor and install new pad and reinstall and the carpet.
4. New - remove and dispose of all carpet and pad. Seal the subfloor then reinstall new pad & carpet.
Black Light
Make sure it’s a real black light, not the fake ones. Just ask. Found this online. "Purchased a 22″ Utilitech T8 Fluorescent Black Light from Lowes today for around $20. It’s made to be mounted so it’s set in a housing that’s perfect to hold in your hand. Plugged it in to an extension cord and meandered around the rooms. It’s amazing how well it works!"

So, Many people are doubting the blacklight
method. As stated previously by Danno, YOU MUST USE A FLOURESCENT BLACK LIGHT
WITH A HIGH FREQUENCY!!!!! The bulb must also be rated “BLB” It WILL work if the
proper equipment and steps are utilized.
